In collaboration with Dexis Consulting Group and the Ministry of Education in Palestine, Mindset is leading the Gaza Schooling Facilities Mapping Project to assess the destruction of school infrastructure in Gaza. This initiative not only documents the structural damage caused by ongoing conflict but also addresses the humanitarian challenges faced by displaced families sheltering in these schools. By evaluating the possibility of accommodating educational needs post-conflict, the project aims to pave the way for a more stable and resilient future in Gaza.
Over 60% of schools in Gaza have become shelters for displaced families, transforming from spaces of learning to critical lifelines for survival. Mindset's work bridges crucial information gaps by providing actionable data to inform post-conflict recovery and stabilization efforts. On-the-ground assessments include evaluating structural integrity, sanitation, water supply, and health risks in schools. Through interviews and focus group discussions with displaced individuals, we also aim to capture personal narratives of resilience and community needs, ensuring a human-centered approach to recovery.
Leveraging innovative tools like a PowerBI dashboard and comprehensive reporting, the project ensures that findings are accessible and actionable for stakeholders. By combining these innovative data tools with direct fieldwork, we aim to contribute to a compassionate and informed response to the ongoing humanitarian crisis.
